Mid Year Financial Reveiw 2010

Where We Are…June 2010

So far in 2010 we’ve been struggling to break even and the
projected losses look grim.  After
looking at the numbers through mid-year, the following key messages are
apparent:

–Revenue (donations, class dana, etc) is either at 2009
levels or less

–Expenses are at 2009 levels unless unavoidable as with
Worker’s Comp and insurance, etc.

–The rest of the
year is key for increasing revenues via fundraising and other means

–Scholarships
remain at about the same pace as last year; over 20% of our class attendees
receive scholarship assistance.

–We are offering more dana-only
events which has a financial impact but which are very important.

The
good news is that we have secured support to sign a one-year lease for the
Santa Monica center. This will allow us to offer more classes and plan for the
future more vigorously. We also have some fundraising events in the works to
help us bring in revenue and new friends.

You can
help by supporting us in whatever way is appropriate for you, either with
monetary support or by volunteering your time and energy. Against the Stream is
your center and needs your help. Let’s move forward together.
