Los Angeles will demonstrate on September 20th in solidarity with the NYC March on September 21st. This will not be a march but a “climate protest” on different blocks of Wilshire Blvd. This website will show the details about which groups will be standing with signs, etc, on different blocks of Wilshire Blvd. between Alvarado and Wilton. Although ATS does not have a specific corner, we do have several members on the ground. Join us.
On September 21st people from around the nation will come together in an unprecedented citizen mobilization for the People’s Climate March in New York City. As world leaders meet at the United Nations climate change summit, tens of thousands of marchers will demand the world we know is within our reach: a global economy that works for people and the planet; a planet safe from the ravages of climate change; a world with good jobs, clean air and water, and healthy communities. Solidarity demonstrations will take place around the world as we collectively call on our leaders to ACT on climate change.
Join other members of Against the Stream as we join others around the country and around the world demanding action. Cheryl Slean, one of our Against the Stream teachers will be marching in New York with other Buddhist Leaders from around the country and the world.
