The Personal Revolution Program A Daylong Workshop with Pablo Das
Kicking off an ongoing series of mindfulness based wellness, nutrition and recovery programs
Saturday, March 27, 2010 10:00am to 4:30 pm Melrose
This
interactive daylong program will offer a comprehensive system for establishing
and maintaining personal wellness and balance. We will discuss the role of a
mindfulness practice and offer instructions and periods of sitting, walking and
eating meditation. We will discuss how Buddhist principles and perspective can
be useful in this work. We will talk about the central role food plays and offer
a simple model for health supportive eating and discuss ways to create balance
where food is concerned. We will explore the inter-relationship between what we
consume, wellness and spiritual practice. Finally we'll expand the lens to
identify and work with the primary variables in our lives (such as sleep,
exercise, water, livelihood, personal relationships, spiritual practice/personal
philosophy, creativity, recreation and our relationship to past traumas/losses)
which impact the internal conditions which in turn inform our behavior and thus
our overall experience of life. This is a truly "whole-istic" approach to
creating wellness. Please bring an open mind and heart as well as a pen and
notebook. Wellness is an anti-establishmentarian act!
***This workshop offers the central theoretical system on which the
other programs in the series are based. Other offerings include a weekly drop in
group (Sunday nights beginning March 28th) private one on one counseling (646
232 7201), community physical activity & movement, whole food community
social events and more. All programs are being offered at the Against The Stream
Buddhist Meditation Center in Los Angeles by the American Food Rebel Network and
