The class will explore:

- The Indian origins of meditation and the Ashtanga system of Patanjali

- The development of the Buddhist meditation tradition and the Samatha-Vipassana practice

- Chinese Taoist systems of meditation and techniques of “inner-alchemy” and immortality.

Michael is currently writing a meditation guidebook for his organization, the Red Lotus Society. This class is based on his current research and his eight years experience teaching classes in Meditation and Eastern Religion.
