This new ongoing Thursday night group breaks the mold. Each month we focus on just one meditation practice and talks will center on a single theme giving us the opportunity to dive more deeply into practice and the teachings. The emphasis of this group is on sangha building, facilitating connection and intimacy. Each class will include relational mindfulness exercises giving you the opportunity to connect with others and be seen. The class offers an extended 3 hour format which includes Pre-class chanting/singing and an hour long post-class relational mindfulness exercise or activity. If you want deeper community connection, connect and sustain delivers!

 

Cost: dana (donation) based - everyone is welcome regardless of ability to pay. No registration necessary - just show up.

 

Saturday Afternoon Sit

with JoAnna Harper and Mary Stancavage

Every Saturday at 5:00pm

 

JoAnna and Mary will alternate teaching this class. Each week will consist of a meditation period followed by a dharma talk and discussion.  The talks and discussion will cover the basics of Buddhism and meditation practice.  No registration is necessary and all are welcome. 

 

 

Sunday Morning Meditation

Every Sunday at 11:00am

 

This class will be led by a different teacher each week from a different Buddhist tradition.

Monthly teachers include Cheryl Slean, Kusala Bhikshu, Kevin Bortolin and others. Check the calendar for specific teachers

Just Sit - Community Sitting Group

Every Sunday at 5:00pm,  Melrose

 

Come to a peer-led meditation group each Sunday from 5-6pm. We will have a 45-minute sit followed by discussion and conversation.  This group is primarily for experienced meditators who would like another day during the week to practice in a communal setting.  The intention of this group is to support the development of a community of practitioners and deepen their daily mindfulness practice.

 

Recollective Awareness Meditation

with Dan Nussbaum

 

Every Monday - 10am til noon

Sometimes Saturday - 10am til noon. Check calendar for specific dates 

A weekly sitting group led by Dan Nussbaum, a member of the Teaching Sangha of the Skillful Meditation Project. (Skillfulmeditation.org) Dan teaches an open approach to Buddhist meditation based on what people actually experience when they meditate. This approach is called Recollective Awareness Meditation, as it involves recollecting what happens in one's meditation sittings. One can meditate in any manner one chooses in this approach or use basic instructions that will be introduced to beginning meditation students.

Experienced meditators and beginners are welcome. Please bring a notebook.

Deepening Your Practice

This drop in class is will consist of alternating weeks of insight and concentrations practices, and lovingkindness practices. Suitable for all levels of practitioner. No registration necessary - just show up.

 

Friday Night - The Dharma Test Kitchen

This class will be an exploration of the practical connection of dharma practice in our daily lives.  The focus of the class is the belief that what we do off the cushion matters, and that engagement is more than a buzz word.  Each month we will explore a different fundamental aspect of basic buddha dharma from a variety of perspectives.  The class will have a rotating schedule of teachers and facilitators, teaching together and individually on the monthly theme.  Come start your weekend with artful practice, sangha building, and a connection to basic dharmic philosophy. Drop in class, by donation. Every Friday, 7:30pm Dharma Den.
