Against the Stream Buddhist Meditation Society – San Francisco

Thank you for making our grand opening such a success!

We’re so honored to be able to welcome you to our sangha’s new home at 2701 Folsom Street (415-695-2864), in San Francisco. We’re so looking forward to watching the new center blossom, and we hope you’ll join us. Stop by a weekly class, become a supporter, volunteer, or join us for a daylong or half-day retreat. We can’t wait to see you there!

Getting to the Center: Our center at 2701 Folsom Street is located in the heart of San Francisco’s Mission District, just three blocks from the 24th St./Mission BART station, and many major bus lines. Street parking is available throughout the neighborhood, however, as this is a densely populated area, we encourage visitors to carpool whenever possible. For those who wish to avoid street parking, there is a city-owned garage located within a ten minute walk at 3255 21st Street.

We still need you to make this possible. Here’s how to help:

Become a Monthly Supporter. Sign up to contribute whatever you can monthly. Every penny will go towards the San Francisco Center. Your support will go directly to our rent, utilities, and cost of operation. When you make this commitment to the sangha, you help us plan wisely and move forward with more confidence. CLICK HERE

Special thank you for Monthly Supporters: On May 16th, we’ll welcome Jack Kornfield to the center for a special benefit for our sangha! Become a monthly supporter at $20 a month or more, for a minimum of six months, and you’re already on the list. For information, click here.

Make a One-Time Donation. You can donate any amount at any time. CLICK HERE

Matching Gifts. Many employers will match your gift to a non-profit. Don’t neglect this way of supporting the community. CLICK HERE

Volunteer. We need people to do all kinds of things. If you can help at all, please let us know. CLICK HERE

Other Ways to Help. We’ll have a need for volunteers to help in many ways. We’ll be making announcements at the Friday night class and sending out email blasts as needed. Make sure you’re connected so you can help in ways that make the most sense for you. As we move closer to making the center happen, we’ll have more details. Get on the mailing list HERE.  Make sure you check the Bay Area list.
