You Are Enough: Releasing the Myth of Insufficiency
July 29, 2017 @ 10:30 am - 4:00 pm PDT
A Daylong Retreat with Deborah Eden Tull
Saturday, July 29, 2017
10:30am – 4:00pm; Santa Monica Center
Real practice does not begin until self-improvement ends. And self-improvement does not end until we release the myth of insufficiency and return to our wholehearted trust in authenticity, or True Nature. There is a loud barrage of conditioning in the human psyche that is perpetuated by the media and a social/cultural ethos of insufficiency. We are taught to measure, compare, judge, fix, solve, correct and beat ourselves into improvement. Dharma practice is the revolution of learning how, instead, to see ourselves with clear eyes… and embrace the perfection of ordinary self, both where we are smooth and where we are cracked. On this day-long retreat, through meditation, relational mindfulness, writing, a dharma talk and facilitated group discussion, we will remember with compassionate awareness who we really are. We will learn how to see our self and others through eyes of acceptance rather than through a lens of insufficiency.
Please wear loose comfortable clothing suitable for meditation and bring a journal/pen.
