Against the Stream is honored to participate in the Hemera Foundation‘s Contemplative Fellowship for Healthcare Professionals program (CFHP). This program makes it possible for full-time healthcare professionals to attend retreats when they might not otherwise have the resources to do so.
To be eligible for support, applicants must be employed full-time in a healthcare field, working primarily with patients/clients or overseeing other healthcare professionals.
The CFHP program aims to support healthcare professionals through the deep contemplative practices taught, developed and strengthened on retreat. At this time, Hemera Fellowships are available for the East Coast Retreat at Dharma Drum.
New applicants who are first-time retreatants, defined as never having attended any residential retreat longer than a weekend (all retreats, not just ATS retreats), will receive 100% funding for their first retreat as a fellow. Applicants who have any previous retreat experience will receive 50% baseline funding, with need-based support available beyond the baseline. Individuals are eligible for one fellowship per year.
If you can comfortably pay for any portion of the retreat yourself, you are welcome to do so, as this will allow funding to be spread among more fellows.
