A comprehensive four-week mindfulness-based course for establishing and maintaining wellness

This series will present a comprehensive system for establishing and maintaining “wellness” (balance or health). The guiding principle is that our wellbeing is established by identifying the variables in our lives that impact the way we feel from moment to moment and engage these variables in such a way as to result in more happiness, ease and wellbeing rather than suffering and dis-ease. This program is action oriented and setting specific intentions and taking action will be the essence of the program. What will be presented is a progressive system but one which allows each individual to identify where their work is right now and allow them to lay that foundation. Success in this program looks like firmly establishing one or two changes rather than perfection.



This series will explore:


-Connecting the deepest intentions you have for your life to your wellness work.
-A model for establishing and maintaining wellness. 
-How to integrate Buddhist practice and principles in wellness work.
-The role of renunciation/abstinence/sobriety.
-The fundamental variables of wellness (sleep, water, exercise, food).
-Mindful eating.
-Ethical conduct as a wellness variable.
-Primary variables wellness: livelihood, sex and relationships, creativity, recreation and healing work (trauma, abuse, social     oppression,   etc..)
-The role of relationship in wellness work. (We will each have accountability partners as well as community support)


Cost: $25 per evening or $85 if paid in advance (15% discount). There will be an opportunity to offer dana to the teacher at each class (teachers receive a portion of the reg fee and are supported by dana). Please pay at the highest level you can afford to support our programs and those who have less. Some scholarships and work-study are available. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Pablo Das is empowered to teach Vipassana meditation and Buddha Dharma by the Against the Stream Buddhist Meditation Society founder Noah Levine. He teaches regularly at A.T.S. centers in Los Angeles and at various A.T.S. groups and in retreat settings nationwide. Professionally, he works as a mindfulness based wellness, nutrition and recovery coach integrating mindfulness practices and Buddhist principles in his private “in person” (and phone based) counseling work. Pablo is an advocate for a Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender and “other identified” voice in American Buddhism. He is also a Buddhism inspired indie-folk (antifolk) musician who tours nationally and can be found transforming monotonous Buddhist chants into indie rock retreat hits.

*This course is recommended for people practicing or interested in “Buddhist” recovery or looking to start that process.
