Naming things is the most dangerous, terrifying and critical work. I believe freedom begins with naming things.  Humanity is preserved by it

“Inner-section” is a series of workshops exploring the integration of the two disciplines of The 5 Rhythms and Buddhist mindfulness. In this workshop we will explore the theme of vulnerability.  Both meditation and movement turn us toward our personal truth and encourage us to say yes to what is there. To be vulnerable is to allow what is true within to be witnessed. Can you allow yourself to be truly seen? Through the fusion of these two systems, being pioneered at Against the Stream, something new and profound is taking form. In this workshop which asks dancers to sit and meditators to dance, we will explore vulnerability through these two lenses and see what emerges. Come discover where you inner-sect.

The 5 Rhythms are a philosophy, a perspective, performance art and a dynamic practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself. Movement is both the medicine and the metaphor, reaching across all languages and age groups to transform suffering into art, art into awareness and awareness into action.
