Meditation and Dharma Talk

The Dharma Collective
Thursdays at 7:30pm
The Dharma Collective is an ongoing opportunity for meditation and discussion led by a diverse group of ATS facilitators and teachers who each bring their unique perspective to practice and living. No registration is necessary. Suitable for any level of practice. All are invited and welcome.

Fridays at 5:30pm

Meditación. Mindfulness. Aprende sentarte con paz. Aprende a tratarte con cariño. Aprende a manejar las relaciones entre familiares, pareja, y amigos de mejor forma. Meditation. Mindfulness. Learn to sit peacefully. Learn to treat yourself with kindness. Learn to better manage relationships with family, partners, and friends.


Saturday Afternoon Sit
with Mary Stancavage
Saturdays at 5:00pm
Each week will consist of a meditation period followed by a dharma talk and discussion. The talks and discussion will cover the basics of Buddhism and meditation practice. No registration is necessary and all are welcome.

Sunday Morning Meditation
Sunday at 11:00am
This class will be led by a different teacher each week from a different Buddhist tradition.
Monthly teachers include JoAnna Harper, Cheryl Slean and Kusala Bhikshu. Check the calendar for specific teachers and dates.

Just Sit – Community Sitting Group
Sunday at 5:00pm
Come to a peer-led meditation group each Sunday from 5-6pm. We will have a 45-minute sit followed by discussion and conversation. This group is primarily for experienced meditators who would like another day during the week to practice in a communal setting. The intention of this group is to support the development of a community of practitioners and deepen their daily mindfulness practice.

7:00 am – Friday – Wake Up Call with Michael Zittel: Instructions, Guided Meditation & Discussion on the Path to Awakening. Intermediate level practice – beginners strongly encouraged.

Community Meditation
Wednesday at 6:00pm
Looking for a way to support your practice and connect with other sangha members?  Join us for Community Meditation, ATS Santa Monica’s community-centric Wednesday group.  Class begins with a 30-minute guided sit (no experience necessary), followed by an opportunity to share about your practice, your week, or your life.  Of course, sharing is always optional.  Come, be seen, get to know your sangha, and keep your practice strong! Dharma from the Heart

This drop in class is a peer led silent sit. No registration necessary – just show up.

Living the Suttas
with Joseph Rogers, Denise DiNovi, Kate Spina and Eileen Ybarra
Friday at 7:30pm
This class is an exploration of the core teachings of Theravada Buddhism. Each week a different sutta (Buddhist teaching) is examined for its relevance to modern contemplative life. Often times the suttas are intimidating, this class seeks to demystify the core teachings and make them accessible to today’s practitioner. Although we study the suttas, this is not an academic class; it is an attempt to examine the basic core teachings and to see how we can engage with them in our meditation practice, our lives as lay practitioners, and in the world at large.

The Friday night class is the perfect way to put your week into perspective and to sit with dedicated practitioners; it is an opportunity to deepen and engage your practice with community through meditation and reflection. Come sit with us and explore how you can bring the core teachings into your life.
