Against the Stream Buddhist Meditation Society is sustained by your generosity. Our goal is to make the teachings of the Buddha available to all who are interested and to build a community of wise and compassionate people from every walk of life. To maintain a physical presence for Against the Stream, we rely heavily Monthly Supporters. These regular contributors help us plan wisely, support our vision and build our programs.
You can designate your contribution to go towards the general fund to be used where the need is greatest, or you can choose a specific area such as scholarship support. You also have the opportunity to adopt one of our regular bills such as electricity, phone and so on. (Click Here for information on our Adopt-a-Bill program).
Please note that teachers do not receive any funds from the Monthly Supporter program and are supported via the donations made to the dana bowl.
We welcome monthly support in any amount and all donations are tax deductible. If you can make a monthly contribution in a certain amount we can offer the following in gratitude:
$100 or more per month: you may attend all one-day or half-day retreats and workshops and regular class series for no additional charge and a 10% discount on all other long-term or special classes. (This does not apply to residential retreats.)
$200 or more per month: you will be invited to a private half-day retreat for Monthly Supporters only, plus the above.
$300 or more per month: you can have a private 30 minute session with an ATS teacher (in person or on-line), plus the above.
